Leaders from the United States, Britain, Canada, France, Germany and Italy took part in a call to discuss the latest developments in the unfolding crisis in Israel and Gaza. A readout of their conversation stressed the importance of preventing the conflict from spreading. The six leaders reiterated their “support for Israel and its right to defend itself against terrorism and called for adherence to international humanitarian law, including the protection of civilians.”
