The United Nations reports that Britain has contributed $36.5 million to the World Food Program in Afghanistan.

The aid was announced by the World Food Program (WFP) on its website last night, stating that it will be utilized to assist more than two million people in need during this cold winter. The WFP further states that with this funding, 13,000 metric tons of wheat, vegetable oil, and other legumes will be purchased, and cash will be distributed to one million people to buy necessary winter items. Additionally, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) announced on Monday that Germany has contributed €۵ million to humanitarian aid programs in Afghanistan.
