The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) announced Portugal’s aid of 200,000 Euros to Afghanistan. OCHA thanked Portugal for this aid on Monday, 12 February 2024. The Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund has also contributed. Previously, OCHA had announced that despite the urgent need for aid for the Afghan people in the current year, United Nations partners have reduced their aid to this country. According to the statistics of this organization, only five million people in the central provinces, including Kabul, the capital, require urgent humanitarian aid.
